Olive & Chia Rolls in the Cuisine Companion

I have been making these yummy rolls for a couple of years now. They are a well loved recipe.

Chop up 10 Kalamata Olives and set aside 10 for half qty 15/20 for full qty

Mix 30g Chia Seeds with 50g water and set aside

Into the Bowl add Either of these combinations
150g Milk  
200g Water

OR

300g Buttermilk
50g Water

Heat on speed 6 at 40 degrees for 3 Minutes
Add 10g Yeast and 10 g Maple Syrup and mix on Speed 6 for 1 minute

Add 200g Wholemeal Plain Flour
Add 400g White Bakers flour
Add 40g Olive Oil
Add 1 tsp salt

Using Pastry Programme 1 for 2 minutes stop at the 1 minute mark add in chia mix and continue
Push down in the bowl and launch P1 Pastry programme again for another 1 and half  minutes

Place dough into a oiled bowl and cover with Beeswax Wrap
OR gladwrap (lightly spray glad wrap so it doesn’t stick to top of dough when it rises

Once doubled in size gently flatten out slightly and add olives by sprinkling over .

If you wish you can split into two lots and do half plain and half with olives, which is what I do as my kids don’t like olives – yet.
Shape out into rolls

Allow to rise and brush  lightly with oil or milk.

Pop into a preheated 190degree oven for around 20 minutes.
