Recently I posted about a popular plastic wrap brand and their box and how they keep changing their cutter ! Along with for and against of which way people felt the cutter was best positioned there was also a number of comments -amongst them surprise that I used plastic wrap. In the past years my home and family have gone through major toxic removal in most areas including food , bathroom, laundry, cleaning and kitchen items but I have still used plastic wrap on a number of things that just didn’t work with out it until now !!

The Family Hub Beeswax Food Wraps
Beeswax food wraps are a natural, food safe, environmentally friendly alternative to single use plastic food wrap.
They can be reused many times over if treated with care.
To use: mould to shape with the heat of your hands or use an elastic band if preferred.
Ideal for wrapping cheese, pieces of fruit and vegetables and covering bowls, plates and casserole dishes.
You just wrap the cloth over a bowl or around a piece of fruit, veg or cheese and hold it in place with your hands for a few seconds. The warmth of your hands softens the beeswax in the cloth enough for it to hold its shape. If you need a tight seal over a bowl or casserole etc you can use an elastic band to hold it in place.

Wrapping Cheese ! Now this is the block of colby cheese that you buy from the shop. It already has plastic on it but then once its opened you then normally need to wrap it in plastic around the opened end to keep it fresh. So now I use a Beeswax wrap ! I use an elastic band after “moulding” it around the cheese block to keep it firmly on.
Ive not had success with cheese in containers so this will suit me and I’m not wasting more plastic and this is how the cheese is sold.
The Family Hub Beeswax Food Wraps are made from 100% cotton fabric.
They are then coated in a mixture of beeswax, jojoba oil and natural tree gum products which have both anti bacterial and anti fungal properties.
The sizes are XLarge 40×40, Large 30×30, Medium 23 x 23, Small 16x16cm.
The fabrics are always changing and the sets are normally all the one pattern. They do sometimes do mixed patterns on request and are also happy to do custom orders for just 1 or 2 sizes
NOT SUITABLE FOR DIRECT CONTACT WITH RAW MEAT OR FISH Washing Instructions:
Wipe over with a cold or warm soapy cloth.
Wraps can be rinsed under a tap but submersion in water is not recommended.
Do not use very hot water to clean your food wraps as this may melt the beeswax.
