I’ve got a few different recipes for rolls, breads and other bakery items.. This is my brand new one Olive Mix Rolls – and they are delicious !

Chop up 10 Kalamata Olives and set aside 10 for half qty 15/20 for full qty
Mix 30g Chia Seeds with 50g water and set aside

Into the Thermomix Bowl add
150g Milk 300g Buttermilk
200g Water 50g Water

Heat 37 degrees at Speed 1 for 2 minutes. For 3 minutes

Add 10g Yeast and 10 g Maple Syrup and mix for 1 minute on Speed 4

Add
200g Wholemeal Plain Flour
400g White Bakers flour
40g Olive Oil
1.2 tsp salt

Mix for 10 secs on Speed 6
Knead for 1 minute add Chia Mix and Knead for another 1 and 1/2 minutes. Knead for an additional 3 and 1/2 minutes

Place dough into a oiled bowl and cover with gladwrap (lightly spray glad wrap so it doesn’t stick to top of dough when it rises

Once doubled in size gently flatten out slightly and add olives by sprinkling over .

If you wish you can split into two lots and do half plain and half with olives, which is what I do as my kids don’t like olives – yet.

Shape into rolls

Allow to rise and brush  lightly with oil or milk.

Pop into a preheated 190degree oven for around 20 minutes.

Updated photos taken with the new recipe version today..(one little roll removed before photo taken for taste testing 😉 )

These are just beautiful and the new version is even better 🙂

  1. Made these rolls today as part of an antipasto platter lunch extravaganza. Everyone loved them. I did half olive and half plain. The real test will be Hubby’s opinion when he gets home!

  3. These look delicious! Just wondering if you fold or push the olives in or just sprinkle them on top? Trying to figure out how they don’t fall off! Thanks!

    1. Hi Renae
I push out the dough after it has risen.. so its a small rectangle shape about 1 inch thick and then I pop down Half Olives after depitting them I use Greek Kalamata.
Then I just gently push them down a little. Then I roll up as if I was doing my scrolls and then re shape into a log and then divide into roll “portions” and then let rolls re rise :- )
Does that all make sense ?
